Wilderness and Wildlife Adventure

Early May – Late October

Our Wilderness and Wildlife Adventure focuses on the adventures in and around the resort without the use of the helicopter. Enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, Great Bear Rainforest hiking, whale watching, bear watching, marine life tours, and so much more. Our experienced guides will create an adventure package that fits the unique desires of each group, as they are exceptional hosts and carry a wealth of information about our area and the wildlife we are so fortunate to live amongst. This adventure is for anyone who would like to enjoy the magic of Nimmo Bay Resort and all of its spectacular amenities, whether it be adventuring along BC’s coast or relaxing in the comforts of your private cabin.

*Our Wilderness and Wildlife Adventure package is not a fishing-focused package. Please let our reservations team know if you’re interested in saltwater fishing and they will provide you with rates and further information.

*Please note that freshwater river fishing is only accessible by helicopters and is subject to availability and heli-day rates.

*Transfers in and out of Nimmo Bay are not included in our packages, however, our Nimmo Bay team is happy to assist you with your travel arrangements from Vancouver onwards. We have set arrival and departure times which take place in the early evenings so please do not make travel arrangements without checking with us first.

*For travel from Vancouver to Port Hardy you will need to book specific flights with Pacific Coastal Airlines. Nimmo Bay has preferred rates for our guests, so please inquire with our office before booking. Once you arrive into Port Hardy, you will fly into Nimmo Bay by floatplane. Our scheduled floatplane transfers between Port Hardy and Nimmo Bay are $170 CAD per person, each way, and will be added to your trip invoice. We will book this flight on your behalf.

*There is also the option to book private floatplane charters from Vancouver, Victoria, Tofino or Seattle, direct to Nimmo Bay and we will be happy to provide further information and pricing if this is of interest.

*Activities cannot be pre-planned and are dependant on weather and the wildlife in the area. While it is very likely you will see an abundance of wildlife, this is never guaranteed. Once you’ve arrived, together with our guides, you create an adventure itinerary at Nimmo Bay. No adventure plans are pre-arranged and all activities are subject to change and based on availability. Please feel free to let our reservations staff know if there are particular activities you’d like to focus on.

*Wilderness and Wildlife Adventure packages are customizable itineraries, but not necessarily exclusive experiences to the group. Based on availability, guests can request a private boat for an exclusive experience. Please inquire for more information and rates.

*Guests can add a helicopter day trip to their Wilderness and Wildlife Adventure package. Please inquire for more information and rates.

*Please note that arrival times into Nimmo Bay are scheduled for the late-afternoon/early-evening on the first day of your trip (depending on the time of year), whether you are arriving by helicopter or floatplane. Cabin check-out time is at 11 am on the final day of your trip, however, departure times out of Nimmo Bay are generally scheduled for the afternoon.
