Artist in Residence

Explore Creativity in the Wild

Art has impact

At Nimmo Bay, we recognize the profound impact of artists and strive to provide a space where their creativity can flourish and their contributions are celebrated and cherished.

Art Is Our Essence

Artists serve as essential agents of expression, reflection and innovation. Through their creativity, they offer unique perspectives, challenge norms and provoke thought. Artists have the power to capture the essence of human experience, evoke emotions and inspire change. They bridge divides, fostering empathy and understanding across diverse cultures and communities. In essence, artists play a pivotal role in shaping our collective consciousness and enriching the fabric of society.

The Rainforest Is Your Studio

As part of our residency program, artists of all kinds will have the chance to stay with our team at Nimmo Bay, with complimentary transportation from Port Hardy, accommodation in our team housing, delicious meals with our crew and a peaceful space to work on their art. Artists are not required to offer any interactive experiences for guests or team members; however, in exchange, we invite you to share your passion and talent during open studio hours or a musical performance. If you’re curious about what creating at Nimmo Bay looks like, we crafted a video detailing the journey of previous artist in residence participants, Miller + Co Wood Studio and Pottery.
