Into The Vines: With TT Wine Explorer

embrace the wild

At Nimmo Bay, we embrace wild experiences deeply rooted and reflected in place.

Our focus on geography infuses our selection of local food and wines. We invite you to continue your journey through a sense of place and extend your Nimmo Bay culinary experience by heading into the vines and exploring more of British Columbia’s terroir and what our diverse wine regions have to offer. Experience in-depth visits at some of the premium wineries showcased on our wine list to see where these drops come from, how they are made, and to hear first-hand from winemakers, founders, and BC wine industry visionaries.

Don’t have time to get to the vines?

BC Wine Country can be brought to you during your own tutored tasting in Vancouver!

Meet Banking Lawyer turned Wine Explorer, Tania Tomaszewska. Tania is a wine professional specializing in “wine journey design.” She creates and leads bespoke private wine tastings and adventures for small groups. Her wine tasting excursions include customized tours in the Okanagan Valley, as well as to the Vancouver Island, Gulf Island and Fraser Valley wine regions. Tania also offers private wine tastings in Vancouver and Victoria (be it in corporate boardrooms, private residences, backyards, yachts, or select local wine bars and restaurants).

Want to deep-dive into some more BC wine exploring before or after your stay at Nimmo Bay?
Here are just a few ideas…

Okanagan Valley Wine Adventures

Experience British Columbia’s spectacular Okanagan Valley wine country and spend a day exploring “Canada’s Napa Valley” with private barrel tastings and vineyard walks in what global wine writers are calling the “most stunning place you’ve never heard of” and “the greatest under-discovered wine region on Earth”.

At about 250 kilometers long, the Okanagan Valley has more than 185 wineries in various sub-regions stretching from cool-climate Lake Country in the North (near Vernon) to Osoyoos at the tip of the Sonoran Desert in the South (near the US border with Washington State). Have a general overview of the region or focus on certain grapes or sub-regions. Your Okanagan Valley Wine Adventure can be completely tailor-made to include specific wineries chosen by you, or you can leave it to Tania to plan all aspects of your day.

Stops may include Little Engine WinesLe Vieux PinCheckmate Artisanal WineryMartin’s Lane WineryMission Hill Family Estate WineryPainted Rock Estate Wineryor Liquidity Wines (to name just a few). Off-the-beaten-track gems are always in the mix and on Tania’s radar too. Whether you’re a first-time visitor to British Columbia or seasoned Okanagan Valley traveller, this can be for you. Tania can meet you at your Okanagan Valley accommodation and whisk you away for your day of wine exploring in chauffeured luxury wheels (or you can jump between wineries by helicopter if you like – mountaintop picnic lunch anyone?).

Want to start your excursion on the Pacific Coast with a same-day jet-set wine adventure?

Jump into a leather-seated Cessna Caravan seaplane or HondaJet Elite with Tania and VIH Execujet for your one-hour or less private flight to the Okanagan from Vancouver or Victoria. Soar over the Pacific Coastal Mountain Range, land in wine country for your day’s adventure and fly back to the Coast in time for dinner.

Whatever your travel mode, Tania will be your wine professional guide for the entire day, leading your discussion about the BC wine industry, its history, and current trends, various local sub-regions and grapes, wine-making techniques and all things Okanagan.

Bringing BC Wine Country to You

Passing through Vancouver and don’t have time to head further afield?
Tania can meet you there and lead you on a tutored wine tasting journey during which she brings BC wine country to you.

Experience a flight of BC wines chosen by Tania, paired with small bites or grazing board highlighting local fare at a downtown local wine bar or restaurant suggested by Tania (or other location agreed with you). Imagine sipping together from say from 4:30 to 6 pm?  A perfect time of day to wrap up touring and to take happy hour to a whole new level before you head to dinner.
