How to get to Nimmo Bay

Some of us just close our eyes, click our heels three times and repeat "There’s no place like home".

For those of you coming to Nimmo Bay Luxury Resort for your adventure of a lifetime, the quickest way to get to us is to fly to Vancouver on the airline of your choice. You should arrive before 15:00 hours as Pacific Coastal Airlines normally departs for Port Hardy & Nimmo Bay at about 17:00 from the South Terminal of Vancouver Airport.

We will be happy to make these reservations for you. If you have booked a Heli-Fishing or Heli-Venture trip, you will fly Pacific Coastal to Port Hardy and our Helicopters will fly you to Nimmo Bay from there. The flight time to Port Hardy from Vancouver Airport is 1 hour. Flight time from Port Hardy to Nimmo Bay is 25 minutes. The transportation costs to Port Hardy are the responsibility of our guests.

There are those who may wish to fly their private aircraft to Port Hardy.  In Port Hardy there are refueling and aircraft ramp parking facilities available. (Esso 122.95). Ask us for details. Port Hardy has a 5000’ runway with ILS facilities. Pre-Customs clearance can be made by calling 1-888-CANPASS.

Private float planes can land and be secured right in Nimmo Bay. There is a float plane service from Vancouver and Seattle direct to Nimmo Bay. Port Hardy is at the north end of Vancouver Island, a 7-hour drive with ferry & car from Vancouver.

For your information, most of our guests stay over in Vancouver on the night of their departure from Nimmo Bay. We recommend staying at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel which opened in October 1999 and is only 20 minutes south of downtown Vancouver, situated right within Vancouver International Airport Terminal, only a few steps away from the baggage arrival halls. Nimmo Bay has negotiated special rates for our guests. Reservations for these special rates can be made by the Nimmo Bay office. Should you decide to make reservations yourselves, please make sure you ask for the Nimmo Bay Resort rate with Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel central reservations department. These rates only apply to guests staying at Nimmo Bay. If you stay at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel, complimentary transportation is provided by Pacific Coastal Airlines between the South Terminal and the hotel.

For those guests wishing to stay in downtown Vancouver, Nimmo Bay recommends the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Again, Nimmo Bay has negotiated special rates for our guests. Reservations for these special rates can be made by the Nimmo Bay office. These rates only apply to guests staying at Nimmo Bay.
