Heli-Ventures

unlimited helicopter adventuresYour Unlimited Adventure

Heli-Ventures enable you to sample a core of several adventures in plush comfort and safety. Our Nimmo Bay professionals will work with you to custom design a wilderness outdoor adventure for your group of any size. Each day is action packed with a variety of coastal adventures in and out of the helicopters. This outdoor adventure vacation package forms a wonderful family or corporate trip as there is an abundance of adventures to ensure all guests learn new outdoor skills, make wilderness discoveries and participate in thrilling adventure sports.

Your hovering magic carpet is the key to your adventure. Fly to killer whales and join our team of experts, complete with hydrophones, as you transfer from helicopter to a 60’ boat to follow the whales as they swim in the peaceful waters of Johnstone Strait. Learn about breeching, rubbing rocks and the different pod names. Understand the wherefore and why of these magnificent creatures as you spend time with them in their backyard pool. Nimmo Bay uses the services of Mackay Whale Watching which is locally owned and operated by Bill and Donna Mackay. They have been in the whale watching industry for many years, have a unique wealth of knowledge about whales, and know all the spots to see whales on B.C.’s central coast.

After being dropped off on a Broughton Archipelago beach, you will again enter your private helicopter to fly off to yet another marvel, the white sand beaches of the West Coast. Here you eat lunch as the blue waters of the Pacific wash your feet and the sun warms your very soul. Search out Japanese glass fishing floats, explore tidal pools or take a swim.

You may find yourself wanting to stay right here but soon it’s time to take off to yet another unbelievable coastal destination.

If all of this is not enough, ocean-kayak on the quiet mainland fjords of the Inside Passage. Professional kayak guides will introduce you to the wonderful life forms of intertidal waters. Watch eagles, stellar sea lions, seals, blue herons and otters. Glide quietly over starfish, crab and sea urchin as the tranquility of the moment overwhelms you.

Float down a magical river in a guided raft. Gaze up at the 6,000 foot mountains as you pass them by. Touch forests of cedar, hemlock, spruce and pine as you glide seaward on this glacial melt, home to thousands of pacific salmon, trout, otter, aquatic birds and bears.

Then it’s off to the alpine mountain meadows and diamond blue glaciers of the Coast Range, as Heli-Hiking becomes your next challenge. This is as close to heaven as humans can get. You will go places no one has ever gone before, face to face with cloud level mountain goats, flying over bear and moose, and discovering places such as Paint Pot, Silverthrone and Twin Lakes that will live in your memory forever.

To top off your Heli-Venture, go fishing for coastal trout or salmon on the anadromous rivers of the mainland coast. Your guide will instruct you in the finest techniques to catch and release a fish, while pointing out that the 300 foot tall spruce tree you are casting by is over 1,000 years old. We guarantee there is nothing like this – all of these adventures in just four days! Our Pacific Northwest cuisine, mountaintop massages, comfortable queen size beds, private intertidal chalets and waterfall hot tubs will keep you refreshed, relaxed and ready for each new day.

Nimmo Bay, it’s your turn.

NOTE: The helicopter stays with your group all day. It is not split amongst other groups.
